Rob Joeckel has been a school counselor at HVRHS since 2019. He received his Bachelors of Arts in International Studies with a Minor in Spanish from Central Connecticut State University (CCSU). He returned to CCSU and earned his Master’s degree in Counselor Education with a Specialization in School Counseling which he earned in August of 2018.
Rob is married to Nicola (a Spanish instructor at Enfield High school in Enfield, Connecticut) and together they have two beautiful children, Callum and Emilia, and two amazing cockatiels named Kramer and Huey. In his free time, Rob enjoys traveling, working out, reading a good book, recording and performing music, and being outside.
Rob’s counseling philosophy is student-centered and solution-focused. He believes in a comprehensive counseling program that addresses the academic, career, and personal/social development of all students. Rob is excited to meet and begin working with you all!

Biography: Kirin Liquori Terni (she/her) is the College and Career Center Coordinator for Housatonic Valley Regional High School. Before joining HVRHS in 2020, Mrs. Terni held positions in both undergraduate admissions and campus life at Bard College at Simon’s Rock (MA), Columbia University (NY) and Union College (NY). Mrs. Terni received a B.A. from Union College in Modern Languages and an M.A. in International Educational Development from Teachers College.

Biography: Kristina Simonds (she/her) is the School Counseling Secretary/Registrar for Housatonic Valley Regional High School. Mrs. Simonds joined the School Counseling Department in September 2015. A Montana native, she received her nursing degree from the University of Montana.
Families interested in enrolling their students at Housatonic Valley Regional High School should contact Mrs. Simonds directly for registration forms. In addition to her departmental support, Mrs. Simonds is the coordinator of the annual Local Scholarships.
Alumni transcripts and/or third party education requests/verifications may email Mrs. Simonds or fax the electronic records release to 860-824-0130. Please be sure to include date of birth, year of graduation or withdrawal, and where the transcript should be forwarded.

Biography: Sharon Veatch, M.S., NCC (she/her/hers). Mrs. Veatch started in the school counseling field in 2003 and joined HVRHS in 2009. A Delaware native, she received her Bachelor's degree in marketing from Notre Dame of Maryland University, a Master of Science degree from Southern Connecticut State University in School Counseling, and graduated in May 2017 from Central Connecticut State University's 6th year Educational Leadership degree program.
Also, Mrs. Veatch is currently serving as Chair of the Board of Directors for the Connecticut School Counselor Association and is a member of the GRAC committee for the New England Association for College Admissions Counseling.
